TOO MANY COOKS

Two dads find themselves in competition to make the best food for the joint family BBQ. One buckles under the pressure and his own insecurity and makes the competition a bit too cut-throat.

A NOTE FROM THE DIRECTOR

One of the main reasons I created and directed this film was because I wanted to explore the concept of jealousy, specifically in a stereotypically masculine sense, and its consequences in a comedic form.

I have always loved black comedies, it's my favourite genre to work in and create stories in.

I feel like setting the film tonally in this way gives a lot of room to poke fun at some of the more absurd insecurities that some men can have, and have a lot of fun with pushing them to extremes.

Working with the excellently talented crew on this was great as I got to push the film to some quite psychedelic and surreal points that I haven't had the tools to do on my own before.

The same goes for the original score created by Jake Osiatynski which really tied the film together for me, giving it the exact vibe and feel I'd been wanting for it.

An overly absurd and extreme film about two dads trying to out-do each other at a barbeque.
